This week was a bit slow. We weren't able to meet with very many people. I am going to keep these people anonymous, but these are the reasons.
1. It is the birthday of the child they lost at birth.
2. Moved back to Pittsburgh, again, to escape an abusive relationship.
3. Got committed involuntarily by his wife to rehab for his opioid addiction. He overdosed on his way to an AA meeting.
4. Had to send her daughter to rehab again for her addiction to Heroine which she overdosed on and DIED last week, but was brought back.
5. Had her identity stolen to the tune of $30,000 several years ago by a friend, but this lady being Christlike forgave and let the thief back into her life without prosecution. Now they are at it again. Oh, and this friend stole her vacuum cleaner.
So that is all very depressing, but nothing new. We have encountered all of these before, just not all at once. It just goes to show how much the gospel can help people! We did meet a few who are HILARIOUS! In fact, we were driving yesterday to see some people before dinner, and there was a minivan trying to edge their way into traffic because they needed to turn and missed the turn lane. Elder Ahrens, being hangry almost didn't let them in, but being the good Christian he is, he let them in. We found out a couple miles down the road that it was the less-active family from the neighboring Knightdale Ward who we had dinner with the night prior and who we love! So that is why we need to be nice to everyone.
That is about all for this week! I love you all and have a great week!
